Country Manager, Germany
Aesop is an Australian based company that launched in 1987. We offer our expanding range of superior skin, hair and body products through signatures stores and department stores worldwide. Reporting to the General Manager Europe, this is a newly created key role in our management team. The focus of this role is to significantly contribute to the successful implementation of Aesop’s strategy in Europe by establishing and managing the business in Germany. You will lead the German operations and ensure that staff are appropriately developed, that turnover remains low and that the potential of all retail and wholesale doors and supporting functions is maximised. You will be expected to develop and implement operational model to ensure the overall quality of output, productivity and profitability are maximized.
The successful candidate:
- holds a relevant senior education
- is diligent, conscientious and ethical
- is inspired by Aesop’s approach to design, product and retail development
- has relevant experience in retail or business development leadership roles, ideally having had previous exposure to premium brands
- has a strong understanding of core retail operations (including P& L, retail planning and analysis, inventory management, brand positioning and staff management)
- has hands-on experience with leading, driving and developing a culture of continuous learning, employee development, performance management, recruitment and training programs.

Aesop is seeking a conscientious and dedicated Counter Manager. We require a character that will bring humour, diligence, and purpose to the role, while choreographing the daily activities of a team of Retail Consultants. The Counter Manager will be responsible for budgeting, store-specific marketing and building their client base.
Retail experience in management or assistant management of a store or counter is essential, as is the confidence to sell products requiring specialist knowledge and the willingness to embrace demonstration-based sales techniques.
Determination and enthusiasm will be supported by excellent communication skills and merchandising abilities, as well as computer literacy (MS Office), a passion for retail, and the ability to converse warmly and effortlessly with customers.
The position is Full-time (Tuesday - Saturday).
